Oh my goodness, when I pulled up to this house and saw all the amazing windows I think I might have actually drooled. This house was a photographer's dream, huge big windows everywhere and white walls, I mean the light was a dream, and thank goodness because this day was so overcast with flurries, so I was nervous how much available natural light I would have. That's the downside to doing lifestyle sessions, you never know what the lighting situation is going to be, but usually all I need is one good window. As for this family, they were just so much fun to photograph, they were laid back and so sweet and really just a joy to be around. Even crying little Olivia is just adorable! Don't you love the face of a newborn crying? Is it just me? I don't like that they are upset but the conviction and emotion that they emit is just amazing at only a few days old. They certainly know what they want!

I am very far behind in blogging. I don’t know why I find it hard to blog, I love sharing my sessions and I know this is the best way to do that but I guess it is just something that tends to fall to the end of the list of priorities. Well, at least I finally got around to this blogging this session. Also, I am running a special at the moment. Book a newborn session before March 31st and you will get a free mini-maternity session. Baby does not have to be born by March 31st but the session must be booked with a contract and deposit.
Baby Anthony
When I first started photographing newborns there was something I felt that was missing, I realized that in order to photograph newborns the way I wanted I had to get rid of all the fluff, focus on the baby and family. That is what I focused on and now I love photographing newborns. I love doing a mix of a simple posed newborn session with a lifestyle session.
Nicholas' first birthday
Nothing is better than watching a family interact and being able to capture them as they are. After Nicholas had some cake I documented his life as a one year old. Having a cake smash is cute, but those are not the photos that will be treasured in 20, 30, 40 years. Reaching up into the arms of your mom, or giving her a gummy smile are the ones that will bring tears to the eyes one day, and I am so joyful that my clients trust me to do this for them.
A first birthday lifestyle session
I loved documenting this family for their little guy's first birthday. Lifestyle sessions are my favorite way to document a first birthday. Seeing them taking a bath in the sink, reaching out for you in their crib, crawling away, these are all such fleeting moments. Everyone says how time goes so fast and while you are in the thick of it, you don't get to cherish these moments and realize how much you will miss them. Soon they will no longer fit in the sink, they will climb out of their cribs, and they will be running.
